Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space Systems Division is looking for a Principal or Senior Principal Project Management Analyst to support the In-Space Refueling organization.
The In-Space Refueling Project Management Analyst reports directly to the Refueling Portfolio Program Manager and provides support across all refueling activities - including executing programs, future business efforts, and internal development activities. This role includes a core responsibility to lead operations and recurring rhythms (staffing, seating, distribution lists, weekly reports, action items, customer and internal leadership meetings and deliverables and more) across the portfolio. In addition to this core function, there is significant opportunity to grow through stretch assignments and involvement in supporting or leading proposals, Internal Research and Development (IRAD) activities, and gaining exposure to the full spectrum of program execution activities as all phases of the program life cycle are represented in this portfolio.
The ideal candidate has foundational project management experience with strong organizational and communication skills and can develop and implement strategies to optimize team execution processes and promote best culture. The In-Space Refueling Project Management Analyst would not have direct reports but would serve as a member of the In-Space Refueling Portfolio leadership team and work across the organization directing and leading initiatives that fulfill the strategic vision of and needs of the In-Space Refueling Program Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support agenda generation, action item tracking, and preparation of charts and reports that support program rhythm, including follow-up with team members to ensure actions and deliverables are completed on time; Customer and Internal Program Management Reviews, Staff Meetings and other recurring meeting, Special topic meetings as needed, Weekly Reports.
- Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of the refueling organization's mission - includes management reporting, information flow and management, and the business development process and organizational planning
- Streamline operational processes to ensure team efficiency
- Maintain customer deliverable lists as needed and ensure team clearly understands expectations for deliverables and due dates
- Document and maintain clear list of roles and responsibilities and org charts across the team
- Maintain artifacts on team meeting rhythm with purpose of meeting and attendees - optimize to support team schedules
- Maintain ‘wall of truth’ key information for team with key information across refueling organization
- Organize team activities for training and engagement
- Support staffing meetings and other functional activities
- Focal point for organization and maintenance of team resources and systems like SharePoint, Confluence, etc.
- Develop onboarding materials and resources for use across the refueling team that are unique to the program
- Support PM on a regular basis with data calls for Operating Unit, Business Unit, and division leadership
- Support generation of proposals and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) as needed
- Support generation of content and planning for team meetings such as all-hands
- Organize and maintain SharePoint site for customer deliverables
- Lead and support planning and execution of Internal Research and Development activities as needed
- Improving processes for measuring and reporting program performance
- Focal point for program CAMs to report staffing needs to input into Workforce Planning
- Develop Program Management Office facing artifacts to drive data-driven decision making
This position may be filled as a Principal Project Management or Senior Principal Project
Management based on the qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management 3:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years', Master’s degree with 3 years', or a PhD with 1 year of relevant experience (Note: An additional 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree).
- Previous experience including but not limited to: integration support across portfolio of programs, project staffing demand/plan, facilities planning & coordination, operational efficiency initiatives, risk management, weekly temp/program meeting rhythm, and supporting costing exercises and supporting proposals.
- High-energy strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to operate and communicate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully navigate or create new processes
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines.
- Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority of personnel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with and manipulate detail-oriented data
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as analytical, planning and presentation skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others.
- Ability to work in the office nominally 3-4 days a week with the willingness to be in office whenever required
- U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications for Principal Project Management 3:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Experience with MS One Note and other organizational tools.
- Prior Northrop Grumman program/project management experience.

- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years', Master’s degree with 6 years', or a PhD with 4 year of relevant experience (Note: An additional 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree).

- Experience or familiarity with Earned Value Management (EMV) and program performance data and metrics
- Prior experience in a Profit and Loss (P&L) role at Northrop Grumman
- Prior experience leading or supporting program proposals
- Once up to speed in the role, self-directed and able to execute tasks with limited oversight
- Prior Northrop Grumman program/project management experience.
Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00Salary Range 2: $113,500.00 - $170,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
