Principal Software Engineer - Developer Platform
Skills
- Hands-on production coding in Python (or Java/C#)
- Deep system design and architecture experience for highly scalable platforms
- Proven experience with Generative AI and LLMs, and building AI POCs/MVPs
- Strong DevSecOps experience and CI/CD pipeline implementation with security controls
- Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native patterns
- Infrastructure-as-code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and associated security
- Secrets management experience (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
- Ability to influence C-level stakeholders and lead large distributed teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication and community thought leadership
Responsibilities
- Design and implement large-scale platform and framework architectures that power engineering productivity
- Write and maintain production-quality code (Python preferred) and contribute to core platform services
- Lead and influence engineering teams (60+ engineers) across time zones and represent the platform in executive discussions
- Drive Generative AI initiatives, build POCs/MVPs, and operationalize models and RAG knowledge bases
- Embed DevSecOps practices into CI/CD pipelines and platform lifecycle with integrated security controls
- Manage infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, and secrets management for secure deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align AI/ML work with business goals and deliver measurable outcomes
- Mentor engineering leaders, contribute to developer community thought leadership, and promote best practices
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in relevant field or equivalent industry experience considered; nontraditional backgrounds welcome
