Skills
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js and/or Rust
- Experience designing and scaling web APIs or microservices
- Hands-on PostgreSQL experience: modeling, querying, and optimization
- Familiarity with cloud and container infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes, Docker)
- Experience with testing and CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions, k6, Playwright)
- Observability and monitoring knowledge (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki)
- Ability to work autonomously in a distributed, remote team with strong communication
- Product-minded approach to engineering and developer experience
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs for blockchain data, token metadata, ordinals, and developer-facing endpoints.
- Develop and improve Chainhook-2.0, a reorg-aware, high-performance transaction indexer for Bitcoin and Stacks.
- Optimize API performance, database queries, caching, and data pipelines for low latency and high uptime.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end features.
- Write and automate unit, integration, and performance tests (e.g., k6, Playwright) and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and advocate engineering best practices.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents; improve observability and reliability tooling.
- Occasionally contribute to frontend code or internal tools to deliver complete product solutions.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working in remote or distributed teams
