Skills
- Active RN with perioperative/OR nursing expertise
- Proven aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation handling
- Experience documenting surgical cases and collecting procedural data
- Ability to follow and enforce OR safety and sterile protocols
- Basic computer proficiency (Google Docs, Drive, Gmail) for documentation
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally and internationally as needed
- Comfort working in environments with potential exposure to bodily fluids
Responsibilities
- Provide on-call operating room coverage for preclinical animal studies and human clinical surgeries
- Ensure strict aseptic technique and adherence to OR safety protocols
- Review surgical protocols pre-op and anticipate team needs during procedures
- Collect, compile, and document surgical and procedural data for engineering and analytics
- Maintain, sterilize, and restock surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Perform end-of-day instrument care, case cart preparation, and OR restocking
- Collaborate with surgeons, hospital staff, and clinical trial teams to support case logistics
- Provide user feedback to design engineers during design-review level discussions
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Relevant perioperative/OR training or certifications preferred
