Universal Studios Hollywood, Entertainment Operations Internship – Summer 2026

Company Description

NBCUniversal is one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies. We create world-class content, which we distribute across our portfolio of film, television, and streaming, and bring to life through our theme parks and consumer experiences. We own and operate leading entertainment and news brands, including NBC, NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC, NBC Sports, Telemundo, NBC Local Stations, Bravo, USA Network, and Peacock, our premium ad-supported streaming service. We produce and distribute premier filmed entertainment and programming through Universal Filmed Entertainment Group and Universal Studio Group, and have world-renowned theme parks and attractions through Universal Destinations & Experiences. NBCUniversal is a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation.

Our impact is rooted in improving the communities where our employees, customers, and audiences live and work. We have a rich tradition of giving back and ensuring our employees have the opportunity to serve their communities. We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

As a theme park built around a working movie studio, we are all about lights, camera, and action! Being part of our team means having fun at work, creating memorable moments for guests, and bringing the magic of Hollywood to life.

Our Universal Studios Hollywood (USH) Internship Program gives you more than a glimpse behind-the-scenes of a working theme park – here you can get the chance to make a real impact on our business. As a USH intern, you will have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with leaders, attend professional development workshops, and learn from industry experts – all while gaining real-world experience. Your internship begins with your key project assignment and concludes with a final presentation of your results to members of Senior Leadership. We love those who are curious, driven, and passionate about the future of the themed entertainment industry.

Summer 2026

Semester System Program Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026

Quarter System Program Dates: June 15, 2026 – August 21, 2026

Internship applications will close on Friday, December 19th at 11:55 PM PT.

Friendly Tips:

  • Apply for the internship(s) that you are most passionate about.
  • Attach a resume that outlines your education (include anticipated graduation month and year), experience, and accomplishments.
  • Upload a transcript – unofficial transcripts are acceptable – that confirms your status as an actively enrolled student in a degree-granting program.

As an Entertainment Operations Intern, you become an essential part of the team behind our biggest entertainment events — IP-driven marquee events like Mega Movie Summer, Halloween Horror Nights, and Grinchmas. Your work will help bring stories, movies, and iconic characters to life in immersive, unforgettable ways. From early casting conversations to live rehearsals, you’ll see firsthand how world-class themed entertainment is created.

Throughout your internship, you will learn how large-scale entertainment events are produced from concept to execution. You’ll build practical skills in talent coordination, scheduling, production logistics, and creative collaboration. You’ll gain exposure to cross-functional teamwork by partnering with our production, technical, and creative teams who are passionate about innovation and storytelling. And along the way, you’ll learn how to navigate a dynamic environment — pivoting, problem-solving, and adapting as plans evolve in real time.

Your day may look a little like this:

  • Supporting auditions, casting conversations, organizing materials, and assisting with communication between casting and operations.
  • Assisting with coordinating rehearsals, creating a prospectus, and ensuring teams have what they need.
  • Participating in project meetings where schedules, milestones, and creative updates are reviewed.
  • Preparing for content shoots, including logistics, documentation, and on-site support.
  • Learning how to manage multiple moving parts with care, urgency and accuracy.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution, or must be a recent graduate (internship within six months of graduation date).
  • Current class standing of Sophomore or above.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, California.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, & holidays.
  • Must be willing to submit a background check investigation. An official educational transcript may be required upon request.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.

For further clarification, candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.

Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete an I-9 form within 3 days of hire.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Rising Junior, rising Senior, or recent graduate preferred.
  • Preferred cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above. Specific departments may require a higher GPA.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to self-start and streamline.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with professional communication at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Detail-oriented and organized is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Experience with event planning and/or supporting creative or logistical projects (e.g. school or community productions, stage management, casting assistance, rehearsals, campus events, orientation programs, student clubs, guest-facing roles requiring strong service and quick thinking, etc.).
  • Relevant coursework in Arts, Communications, Entertainment, Events Management, Film, Production, Theatre, Media Studies, Hospitality, Recreation Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong interest in themed entertainment, live events, or performing arts.
  • Knowledge of theatrical production, film, or themed entertainment.
  • Passionate to deliver exceptional guest and Team Member service.

Additional Requirements:

Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
