SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Production, the Lighting Supervisor joins a dynamic, student-centered production team. The Lighting Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and running electric calls, supervising students and staff, and managing lighting equipment for the Department of Theatre and Dance. A typical 14-week semester includes three mainstage productions, three studio productions, and class-based and student-led performance projects.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedule, organize and supervise electric calls, lighting hangs, focus, and technical rehearsals; schedule students and personnel for work calls. Direct Lighting Technician+rsquo;s and overhire+rsquo;s work, including schedules and tasks.
Support electrics needs for Theatre and Dance activities, including attendance at all related production meetings.
Responsible for all business relating to electrics, repair and maintenance of equipment used by the department, including venue improvement, maintenance, and repair in collaboration with CPO.
Collaborate with Lighting Design faculty mentor and Lighting Designers to determine show equipment needs, time and materials feasibility and electrics budget. Manage lighting rental packages, arrange for cartage and return of all equipment.
Create and maintain show budgets for rentals, perishables and overhire needs, in conjunction with the Director of Production.
Upkeep and edit applicable paperwork, light plots, rep plot paperwork, and other related administrative duties.
Serve as Instructor of Record for THTR 205: Rehearsal and Production - Lighting section each semester, providing hands-on instruction to students through direct involvement in departmental productions.
Work proactively and cooperatively with other technical teams to ensure the success of productions
Attend technical and dress rehearsals and performances as scheduled, including evenings and weekends.
Cultivate a positive and supportive learning environment for student designers and student technical workers.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Bachelor+rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university.
Minimum three years of experience working as a Lighting Supervisor, Head Electrician, or similar role.
Experience leading and supervising teams with varied experience and skill levels.
Demonstrated excellence in the execution of theatrical and event lighting installation and execution.
Proficiency with Lightwright, Vectorworks, and Google Suite and an ability to learn new software systems as needed.
Proficiency in EOS lighting systems and console programming, including moving lights and networking.
Solid understanding of proper safety protocols for productions and events following OSHA and general standard building codes.
Rigging and counterweight fly system proficiency.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, hang cable, and focus lighting instruments.
Valid Driver+rsquo;s License.
Experience, ability and commitment to create a working environment that is supportive, open, and respectful.
PREFERRED:
Experience in an educational production environment and student mentorship.
OSHA 10, ETCP Rigging Theater, OSHA Lift Training, and/or First Aid Training certifications.
Working knowledge of projection systems and networking.
