Mirantis is seeking a Product Manager to drive product strategy and execution for our Container Solutions portfolio, including Mirantis Secure Registry (MSR), Mirantis Container Runtime (MCR), and Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE) 3.x. This role will also focus on creating integrated solutions that combine these core container technologies with our flagship k0rdent platform to deliver comprehensive container management capabilities.
The Container Solutions portfolio serves as the foundation for enterprise container deployments, providing secure, compliant, and scalable container infrastructure for organizations transitioning from traditional virtualization to cloud-native architectures. This role requires strong technical expertise in containers, Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure, coupled with proven product management experience in driving customer adoption and product transitions.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing product lifecycles, driving customer migrations between product versions, and working closely with engineering teams to deliver enterprise-grade container solutions that meet evolving customer needs.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Execution
Own the product roadmap and strategy for MSR, MCR, and MKE 3.x, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and market demands for secure container infrastructure
Drive product requirements for enterprise-grade features including container security scanning, registry management, cluster orchestration, and compliance frameworks
Define integration strategies between Container Solutions and k0rdent platform to deliver unified container management experiences
Partner with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery and high quality of product releases and updates
Translate customer feedback and market insights into actionable product features and prioritized development plans
Customer Transition & Migration Leadership
Lead customer transition strategies from legacy container platforms and older product versions to current Container Solutions offerings
Develop migration guides, best practices, and transition tooling to facilitate smooth customer upgrades
Work directly with customer success teams to understand migration challenges and address technical blockers
Create compelling business cases and ROI models for customers considering container platform transitions
Support complex customer migrations through direct engagement and technical consultation
Go-to-Market Support
Collaborate with Product Marketing to develop positioning and messaging for Container Solutions across key use cases including secure container registries, enterprise container runtimes, and Kubernetes orchestration
Enable sales teams with technical collateral, competitive positioning, and solution architecture guidance
Support customer engagements from technical discovery through proof-of-concept and deployment planning
Contribute to product launch activities and coordinate release communications
Customer & Market Insight
Engage directly with DevOps teams, platform engineers, and IT administrators to understand container infrastructure pain points and workflow requirements
Monitor competitive landscape including Docker Enterprise, Red Hat OpenShift, and cloud-native container services
Identify trends in container security, compliance requirements, and enterprise containerization adoption patterns
Gather and analyze customer usage data and feedback to inform product improvements and roadmap decisions
Cross Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering and design teams to ensure product usability, security, and enterprise-grade reliability
Coordinate with support and customer success teams to address product issues and enhance customer experience
Align product priorities with Mirantis' partner ecosystem and open-source community contributions
Champion customer requirements across the organization to ensure solutions address real-world enterprise challenges
5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in container technologies, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise IT platforms
Strong technical understanding of Docker containers, Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, and container orchestration concepts
Experience with container registries, image scanning, and container security best practices
Proven track record managing product transitions, customer migrations, and version upgrades in enterprise environments
Familiarity with DevOps, platform engineering, and IT operations personas and their operational challenges
Experience in go-to-market activities, product positioning, and supporting sales processes
Strong technical fluency in cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, and enterprise security frameworks
Excellent communication skills with ability to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
Experience working with cross-functional teams and driving consensus without direct authority
Bonus Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Mirantis products (MSR, MCR, MKE) or similar container platforms
Knowledge of container security standards, compliance frameworks (SOC 2, FIPS, Common Criteria)
Experience with Docker Enterprise or other enterprise container platform transitions
Familiarity with GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and container-native development workflows
Understanding of hybrid and multi-cloud container deployment patterns
Experience with competitive offerings from Docker, Red Hat, VMware, and cloud providers
