Position Purpose
The Contracts and Accounts Payable Analyst provides a high level of confidential and executive administrative management and advanced professional organization to ensure efficient and effective operations for the Associate Vice President for Finance & Auxiliary Services, Buyer Supervisor, and the Business Office (consisting of procurement, accounts payable, general accounting, student accounts, budget, and accounts receivable). The position plays an important and strategic role, enabling the Associate Vice President for Finance & Auxiliary Services and Buyer Supervisor to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill the college’s mission, vision, core values, and interests. This position evaluates and provides management of key processes and organizational duties for the Business Office to ensure effective and efficient operations. This includes analyzing the organizational function of the Business Office operations and recommend revisions to work methods, procedures, and forms to increase the effectiveness and oversight of procurement and accounts payable processes having in an organizational-wide impact. This position manages the Business Office projects, addressing managerial and procedural problems, ensuring accurate analysis, collaborating with stakeholders, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations, delivering outcomes through accurate supporting data, implementation of altered procedures, and ensuring timely completion for all projects.

Salary Range:
$28.82 - $42.31/hour
(DOQ – Salary Placement will be done at time of hire.)
Minimum Qualifications (must have at time of application)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Law, or related field AND two (2) years of procurement or equivalent experience that may include accounting and accounts payable experience and demonstrated understanding of the principles, theories, and techniques of contract execution and payment processing.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion and ability to work with and support diverse populations, including students and colleagues. Strong written, oral, and customer service skills.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of relevant software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office-Word, and Outlook sufficient to create and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Experience with contracts and RFP development, business acumen and strong organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple priorities successfully and attention to details and accuracy.
Project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting competing deadlines and ability to prepare and present clear and comprehensive reports.
Ability to lead teams. The ability to work in a team-based environment that is service-oriented and fosters a positive, fun, and professional working environment.
Experience in collecting, organizing, analyzing, and summarizing data. Ability to work with complex data sets; maintain data quality and engage in validation.
Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job)
Experience organizing, conducting, and participating in meetings with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders to accomplish assigned tasks.
Ability to establish and develop productive working relationships with the college community, faculty, staff, students, and administration.
Experience developing procedures to facilitate data collection and the responsible use of data to inform decision making.
Experience using Microsoft PowerBI.
Experience working with Minnesota State higher education data.
Experience working in a higher education setting.
Demonstrate good problem-solving and human relations skills.
Knowledge of State of MN and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities policies, procedures, and practices.
Experience in policy development, and the ability to make, recommend, and implement changes.
Experience using Minnesota State databases such as ISRS, Workday, and Jagger applications.
