Senior Backend Engineer
Skills
- 5-7+ years of backend engineering experience (preferably in fintech/crypto)
- Proficiency in backend languages such as C#, Java, Scala, or Go
- Strong knowledge of REST API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native patterns
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of security fundamentals: AuthN/AuthZ, API security, encryption, SAML
- Basic understanding of crypto concepts: blockchains, RPCs, self-custody wallets
- Experience optimizing systems for performance and scalability
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs for production systems
- Deploy and operate services on Azure with a focus on scalability and reliability
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to system design decisions
- Implement robust testing, debugging, and incident response practices
- Optimize performance and throughput for high-volume data flows and transactions
- Apply security-first practices across authentication, authorization, encryption, and API security
- Collaborate closely with Product and cross-functional engineering teams across time zones
- Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and drive engineering best practices
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus
