Role Overview
Mercor is seeking experienced Retail Buyers to collaborate with a leading AI research lab. You will design and evaluate advanced shopping-assistant AI systems by creating realistic shopper profiles, high-quality prompts, and rigorous evaluation rubrics for product-recommendation tasks.
Qualifications
- 3 + years of professional experience in any of the following: consumer-shopping, purchasing or working as a buyer in fashion/tech/consumer stores
- Demonstrated expertise in trend spotting, brand benchmarking, and translating shopper needs into concrete product recommendations
- Proven ability to create retail assets (e.g., inventory scorecards, product-content libraries, campaign-ROI reports)
- Excellent written English and keen attention to detail
Project Timeline
- Start Date: Immediate
- Duration: 5 weeks
- Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week
- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous - flexible working hours
Compensation & Contract
- Hourly Rate: $25–$40/hr (USD), depending on experience
- Status: Independent Contractor
- Payment: Weekly via Stripe Connect
