Meat Telesales Coordinator

Overview

The Meat Telesales Coordinator -

  • Assists with business planning and support management of both SGD and MDI meat phone staff in conjunction with Senior Meat Category Manager to maximize customer satisfaction, sales volume and profit goals of phone sales.
  • Increases phone sales of fresh beef and pork sales. Seeks other accounts for phone sales to prosper and keep competitors from penetrating our area.
  • Increase sales growth will ensure overall company sales objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Researches customer demands and selects correct product mix, including new items. Communicates with vendor community to gain a true read of markets of each item, not just commodity group.
  • Receives spot buys and position buys from Senior Meat Telesales Manger to increase profitable sales to phone sales customers. Helps department with developing strategies/programs and works with the SGD phone sales staff along with the MDI phone sales staff to deliver programs.  Works closely with retailers, sales and advertising to assure promotional ideas are implemented and presented to phone customers.  Understands past and current trends, and future market calls to provide information to phone customers to progress the phone sale.
  • Monitors the competition in the marketplace. Recommend SRPs and monitor category pricing.
  • Responsible for gross profit phone sales goals and sales growth to those accounts assigned for phone sales.
  • Reviews and evaluates product on hand vs. customer demand to help ensure customer sales needs.
  • Participates in regular visits to the warehouse, returns area, and retail stores to keep abreast of any problems or opportunities that may pertain to marketing.
  • Collaborates with Senior Meat Telesales Manager to assist in successful sales opportunities for retail. Maintains consistent communication and positive relationships with all customers.  Monitors customer satisfaction thru phone surveys and presents all opportunities to the supervisor.  Researches and code-calls potential customers for phone sales increases.  Understands PCR information to conduct searches for sales voids.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists in BTST programs and customer management.

Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications:

  • The incumbent should possess knowledge and skills generally associated a bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, multi-tasking with strong organizational skills. Should possess analytical and negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Direction/Responsibility:

  • The incumbent works under the general direction of the Senior Meat Telesales Manager and makes decisions independently within guidelines to address day to day needs.
  • Communicates regularly with retail owners/operators and MDI management teams, Merchandisers, and Directors.
