Sales Business Development Consultant (Contract Position)

Perinatal mental health issues are the #1 complication of childbirth and the leading cause of maternal mortality. Mavida Health is a comprehensive, specialized virtual mental health care offering for the path to parenthood.


We are looking to contract with a part-time Business Development Consultant (10 to 15 hours weekly) to support organizational growth, patient acquisition, professional relationship management, and brand awareness. For the NY, NJ, LA, and TX areas!


What are we looking for?


As a consultant with Mavida Health, you will have a rare opportunity to help build and define our organization as we combat the maternal mental health crisis.


While we have a multi-channel BD approach, relationships and referrals from professionals such as OB/GYN doctors and pediatricians are primary drivers of customer acquisition.


In this bonus-eligible position, you will help connect those who need us to our resources for support while we tackle this crisis together.


Ideal candidates have existing connections in OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Mental Health, Labor and Delivery, Midwifery, and other related and similar professions.


What is the role?


The business development consultant will:


  • Generate referrals from OB/GYNs, midwives, doulas, lactation consultants, and other healthcare partners through prospecting, relationship building, and account management
  • Document all activities in HubSpot and provide regular market updates to leadership
  • Meet weekly activity goals: 10-15 high-impact (meetings/events) and 40-50 touchpoints (emails, calls) with qualified prospects
  • Achieve monthly referral and admission targets (specifics TBD with leadership)
  • Coordinate with the Mavida team for key stakeholder meetings and support customer experience initiatives
  • Be comfortable wearing multiple hats - even those that don’t fit squarely and traditionally within your job description, because hey, we’re a startup!


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, with 3+ years of experience working in sales, specifically in healthcare, pharma, or behavioral health, with proven results
  • Self-starter with a “no problem is too big or too small” attitude
  • Located in the NY, NJ, LA, and TX areas with the ability to go in person to practices in key cities.
  • Strong networking skills to connect with providers, professionals, and stakeholders. Existing book of business with professionals listed above is a huge plus!
  • Ability to build and execute a strategic sales plan
  • Comfort with CRMs or HubSpot specifically
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Passion for women’s healthcare, maternal healthcare, and/or mental healthcare - and the desire and drive to change the dismal status quo
