Skills
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant in Maryland
- Minimum two years' experience practicing as a PA in an acute care or urgent care setting
- Clinical assessment and diagnostic decision‑making for acute musculoskeletal conditions
- Wound care and procedural skills (suturing, splinting, casting) preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation
- Strong patient education and communication skills
- Knowledge of infection control and safety practices
Responsibilities
- Provide supervised medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for acute and same‑day orthopedic patients
- Perform wound care, splinting/casting, minor procedures and other urgent interventions as clinically appropriate
- Educate patients and caregivers on diagnoses, treatment plans, follow-up and preventive care
- Maintain documentation and clinical notes in the electronic medical record according to policy
- Communicate patient progress and care plans with the supervising physician and other care team members
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists or higher levels of care when warranted
- Maintain current licensure and required continuing medical education
- Adhere to facility, state and professional regulatory requirements and infection control policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Current or eligible Physician Assistant licensure in Maryland
