This support includes performing comprehensive research and analysis, conducting interviews, and presenting recommendations to senior management, high-level DOE personnel, and officials of intelligence agencies on relevant Counterintelligence (CI) issues, ensuring compliance with Department of Energy (DOE) Order 475.1 (CI Program). Following an onboarding and training period at the LLFO Program Office at LLNL in Livermore, CA, the primary assignment location for this position will be at SLAC. In addition, weekly visits to the LLFO Program Office at LLNL will be required.

This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home one day per week.

This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.

You will

  • Collect and review information from a variety of open and secure sources to assess and mitigate any CI/CT threats associated with foreign visits, travel, and contacts.
  • Produce detailed and accurate intelligence reports/records in appropriate intelligence databases, and investigative case files.
  • Conduct and present face-to-face briefings/debriefings and presentations to SLAC personnel regarding hosting foreign nationals, foreign travel, and specific CI/CT risks/threats.
  • Support all elements of the CI outreach program, including refining, developing, and presenting CI awareness and training material to all employees/members of the workforce.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Please note that any current active Q or Top Secret clearance with DOE or another agency does not guarantee DOE SCI access approval; if you are denied access, you may be subject to reinvestigation of your existing Q or Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Experience employing investigative procedures and techniques, including researching, interviewing, and documentation specifically concerning CI investigations.
  • Experience identifying foreign government missions, functions and collections processes, as well as U.S. methods of intelligence collection and dissemination.
