- Hands-on experience with thermal and structural testing and analysis
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, strength of materials, and materials selection
- Experience applying vibration and mechanical loading criteria to electronics packaging
- Familiarity with compliance testing processes (EMI/EMC and safety)
- Experience working with fabricators and supervising build-to-print manufacturing
Responsibilities
- Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify and document mechanical hardware of moderate to high complexity
- Develop thermal and structural packaging solutions to meet performance and reliability targets
- Lead mechanical design approaches and packaging techniques within the Systems organization
- Capture and analyze hardware engineering requirements in area of domain expertise
- Participate in compliance testing with nationally recognized test labs for EMI/EMC and safety standards
- Perform root-cause analysis and technical investigations for thermal and mechanical failures
- Manage relationships with outside fabricators to ensure correct build-to-print and quality workmanship
- Support cross-functional integration, pre-qualification, and qualification efforts for products and sub-systems
- Contribute to technical roadmaps, best practices, and product feasibility assessments
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)
