Head of Procurement

LaunchDarkly is a high-growth SaaS company helping engineering teams release and manage features safely and quickly. They are hiring a hands-on Head of Procurement to build and scale an end-to-end procurement function, partner with Finance, Legal and cross-functional stakeholders, own vendor lifecycle and tooling, optimize costs, and manage vendor risk across software, cloud, and services spend.

Skills

Proven experience negotiating complex cloud, software and services contracts
Experience implementing Procure-to-Pay processes and procurement tooling
Strong financial and analytical acumen for vendor cost modeling and ROI assessment
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and present to executive leadership
Vendor risk and performance management experience

Responsibilities

Design and implement an end-to-end procurement framework: policies, governance, vendor intake, contracting, renewals and off-boarding.
Own vendor lifecycle management from selection through contracting, performance tracking, renewals and risk assessment.
Negotiate major vendor agreements (software, cloud, professional services, managed services) and optimize commercial terms.
Identify cost savings, consolidation opportunities, alternate sourcing and vendor rationalization initiatives.
Deploy and optimize procurement tooling (P2P, vendor management, contract management) and drive automation.
Define, monitor and report procurement KPIs (spend by category, savings, vendor risk scores, renewal rates) to Finance and Execs.
Partner with Finance on budget/forecasting to align vendor spend with financial targets and growth plans.
Lead cross-functional stakeholder engagement with Engineering, Product, GTM, Legal and Ops to align procurement with business needs.
Drive continuous improvement and establish disciplined sourcing, transparency and risk mitigation practices.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant certification preferred
