Description
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for the overall operations, compliance, and strategic leadership of the pharmacy. This includes managing staff, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations, overseeing the 340B program, optimizing inventory and workflows, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role will work closely with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) and other departments to support high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Regulatory Compliance & Leadership:
· Ensure full compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, DEA regulations, and Board of Pharmacy requirements.
· Support and collaborate with the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to maintain licensure, certifications, and inspection readiness.
· Oversee compliance documentation, audits, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Perform root-cause analyses for incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions.
· Lead compliance activities for the 340B Drug Pricing Program, including HRSA audit readiness.
Team Management & Development:
· Proactively recruit, onboard, and retain qualified pharmacists and support staff (e.g., PRN pharmacists).
· Ensure optimal staffing levels through scheduling, forecasting, and workload balancing.
Operations & Inventory:
· Manage medication inventory to ensure appropriate levels, minimize waste, and maintain cost control.
· Leverage automation and reporting to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline pharmacy operations and reduce errors.
340B Program Oversight:
· Coordinate referral capture and payment collections to maximize 340B compliance and revenue.
· Perform regular internal audits and support external HRSA audits.
· Identify opportunities to optimize program benefit while maintaining strict compliance.
Quality & Strategy:
· Maintain quality-related documents and tracking tools for pharmacy and 340B program.
· Set operational standards and regularly evaluate performance against metrics.
· Use data insights to generate action plans supporting organizational objectives.
· Participate in community engagement and outreach as needed.
· Collaborate across Frontera to identify proactively identify potential issues and opportunities
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma
· Basic Microsoft Suite Knowledge (Excel, Word, Teams etc...)
· Customer Centric approach
Preferred Qualifications:
· Registered Pharmacy Tech license in good standing in the state of Texas (or applicable state).
· Understanding of 340B program requirements, pharmacy compliance, and inventory management.
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
