THE ROLE

We’re seeking a talented and experienced assessment content creator to join our Assessments team. The assessment content creator contributes to the development of new, innovative 6-8 assessments. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of middle school ELA, state standards—especially the CCSS, assessment development best practices, and has a passion for teaching and learning. 

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to the creation of middle school ELA assessments, leveraging your subject matter expertise in the design of test blueprints and test items
  • Build and maintain item banks by sourcing and writing passages and item development 
  • Ensure alignment of items with state standards content and assessment best practices
  • Act as an editorial expert by reviewing and maintaining content and working with partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — product, design, and engineering — in creating more complex, interactive assessments for our students 
  • Innovate with new activity types made possible by AI technologies

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 2+ years of large-scale assessment development experience, including blueprint creation and item development
  • 2+ years of classroom experience teaching middle school ELA
  • Deep pedagogical knowledge and expertise in state and national standards
  • Interest in using new AI tools as assistants in content creation
  • A focus on a positive assessment experience
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), as well as an eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • A growth mindset—curious, innovative, and energized to build something new for students

The target salary range for this position is $77,600 - $94,090 (USD) / $104,862 - $127,145 (CAD). The pay range for this position is a general guideline only. The salary offered will depend on internal pay equity and the candidate’s relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and job market data.
