- Deep technical knowledge of leather goods and footwear construction, materials, and fit
- Proven vendor management and negotiation skills, preferably with Italian suppliers
- Experience with PLM, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office; RLM a plus
- Strong costing and budget management experience
- Quality control and production tracking expertise
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to travel to Italy
Responsibilities
- Lead development calendar and manage milestones from concept through SMS for handbags, footwear, and accessories.
- Oversee prototyping and sample approval processes, providing technical feedback on fit, construction, and materials.
- Manage product costing, vendor negotiations, and departmental budget with timely invoice review and approvals.
- Coordinate cross-functional design and development meetings and maintain product data integrity in ERP/PLM.
- Own production flow, quality control (in-line and final QC), and weekly production reporting and vendor calls.
- Maintain supplier relationships, raw materials liability, and coordinate bulk shipments with logistics.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the non-apparel product team in alignment with company values.
Education
- 8+ years in product development and production with a focus on luxury handbags and footwear
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
