Marketing Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Specialist supports marketing initiatives by assisting the Brand Manager in the implementation of Marketing activities. S/he will be responsible for taking on a variety of tasks that allow for the successful completion of planned marketing programs. Essentially, s/he will assist in the development of marketing collateral, monitor existing marketing campaigns, monitor & analyze sales metrics, and coordinate market research studies.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  1. 1.    Support marketing initiatives by helping brand managers in overseeing its implementation
  2. 2.    Provide support to Operations for marketing-related concerns and closely align with other departments to help complete ongoing projects. (e.g. database development: merchandising space, store photos, menu boards, etc).
  3. 3.    Perform field work/activities as needed to gather needed information for the implementation of marketing activities.
  4. 4.    Assist Marketing Director/Marketing Team in obtaining necessary information and perform tasks to support product launches, events, promotions, or activities.
  5. 5.    Collect and analyze data on sales performance, promotions and new product launches.
  6. 6.    Check on merchandising display of stores to ensure that planned activities are implemented.
  7. 7.    Process payment request, monitor A&P expense of merchandising materials vs budget, coordinate with suppliers on marketing material requirements and dispatch marketing materials through warehouse delivery or UPS/Fedex/USPS.
  8. 8.    Coordinates with vendors, suppliers, and agencies in the development, production, and distribution of marketing collaterals and merchandising . 
  9. OTHERS:
  • Perform other job/task or marketing expertise related assignments in order to develop one’s self and/or share one’s expertise resulting to support work efficiencies & productivity.
  • Handle confidently and skillfully all internal and external communications with all diverse ethnicities, cultures, races.
  • Take initiative and collaborate with experts and immediate supervisor before making decisions/actions.
  • Attend/participate in meetings, conferences, company events and benchmarking or networking opportunities as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education

 Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, preferred, or any equivalent related course.


Experience

·   Minimum 1 year of work experience in a consumer goods company with specialization in marketing functions or account management work in advertising agency, and/or any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

·       Above average planning and organization skills, detail-oriented and flexible/adaptable in work schedules and assignments.

·       Computer Literacy: Must be at least proficient if not achieved mastery in the essential MS Applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Adobe Photoshop knowledge is a plus.

Other Qualifications

  • Computer Literacy: Must be at least proficient if not achieved mastery in the essential MS Applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Adobe Photoshop knowledge is a plus.
  • Physical Effort/Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
  • stand/walk occasionally on the scheduled work shift.
  • lift, reach, pull, push, grasp and use hands occasionally.
  • bend and/or squat down occasionally on the scheduled shift.
  • climb, stoop and/or kneel rarely.
  • lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • need to see well enough to differentiate product quality parameters, read/compose email, reports, use the computer and be proactive to customers’ feedback affecting quality of service.
  • need to speak and hear well enough to give/receive instructions, feedback and communicate with employees, customers and partners/vendors/suppliers.
  • be required to work irregular hours or varying work shifts schedules as necessary at work.
  • be required to visit stores (occasionally); supplier’s plants.
  • be required to travel (field work) for store openings, competitive checks, etc)
  • Mental Ability/Requirements:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
  • be required to perform standardized/adaptive arithmetical computations and pricing analysis, data analysis, and project management.
  • Work Environment:  Work is performed indoors and outdoors in various reasonable weather conditions and varied climates.
  • Tensions and pressures may arise in meeting deadlines and goals. It may range from moderate to heavy (occasionally).
