Solutions Engineering Manager - West

This role is designed for a seasoned technical leader with a passion for guiding both customers and internal teams. As a Solutions Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of solutions engineers, ensuring prospects and clients receive top-tier technical guidance and value. You will drive pre-sales initiatives, including technical discovery, custom demonstrations, workshops, and pilots, while also supporting adoption, growth, and measurable business impact. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate across sales, product, and engineering teams, while coaching and developing a high-performing technical team. You will act as the key technical advisor within your region, shaping strategy, solving complex problems, and ensuring customers derive maximum value from advanced AI-powered solutions. The role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment with significant strategic influence.

Accountabilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of solutions engineers to ensure high performance, technical expertise, and professional growth.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for your region, guiding customers and prospects through complex implementations and integrations.
  • Oversee pre-sales activities, including technical discovery, product demonstrations, use case workshops, and pilots.
  • Drive adoption and expansion within existing customer accounts, identifying opportunities to deliver additional value.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, services, product management, and engineering teams to align priorities and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve customer issues to maintain satisfaction and retention.
  • Represent best practices and technical thought leadership in customer and industry forums.
  • 5–7 years of experience in solution engineering, with proven success in complex sales environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing, mentoring, and developing high-performing technical teams.
  • Strong expertise in API and integration architecture within hybrid or SaaS environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms and architecture (GCP, AWS, Azure), security, and networking.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, security frameworks, and technical audits.
  • Excellent project management skills, balancing multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and data-driven with a “Do Whatever It Takes” mindset.

Location flexibility: San Francisco, Palo Alto, or fully remote.

  • Competitive salary range of $270,000 - $350,000 annually, with potential variable compensation and equity.
