Senior Manager / Director of Software Development (Remote - US)

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager or Director of Software Development to lead a global software delivery organization. This role oversees the full software lifecycle, from technical design and architecture to project execution and team leadership. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams including developers, QA, project managers, and business analysts, driving innovation, operational excellence, and alignment with organizational goals. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to scale software initiatives, optimize processes, and deliver high-quality, enterprise-grade solutions in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.

Accountabilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage diverse teams across software development, QA, project management, and business analysis in multiple locations
• Drive end-to-end delivery of complex software projects on time, within budget, and meeting high-quality standards
• Implement and refine agile development practices and project management methodologies
• Provide technical guidance, review architecture, troubleshoot issues, and engage directly with development teams as needed
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align software initiatives with strategic company objectives
• Establish scalable structures, processes, and reporting for operational excellence
• Promote a collaborative, innovative, and accountable team culture across distributed teams

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing technical teams
• Strong technical background in enterprise software architecture, cloud-based platforms, and modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, .NET)
• Proven experience managing complex, global development organizations and delivering large-scale initiatives
• Comfortable engaging in hands-on technical work, including code review and troubleshooting
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in telecommunications or high-availability, high-scale systems is preferred
• Familiarity with OSS/BSS systems, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
