This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams focused on networking features. You will oversee multiple Pods of software engineers, collaborating closely with product managers and designers to deliver impactful features. The position emphasizes technical leadership, career development, and architectural guidance, while fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion. You will manage critical production systems, guide design decisions, and ensure your team’s work aligns with organizational objectives. This fully remote role requires strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively across time zones. You will contribute to shaping the engineering culture and processes while delivering innovative solutions that directly impact end users.
· Provide mentorship and career development for a team of software engineers.
· Guide architecture and project scoping to ensure successful delivery.
· Offer technical direction and grow the technical leadership capabilities of your team.
· Hire, onboard, and support new engineers while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.
· Oversee critical production services, including monitoring, alerting, and on-call responsibilities.
· Facilitate healthy design discussions and cultivate a positive culture of constructive feedback.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to complete complex projects across multiple domains.
· Drive both short-term tactical planning and long-term strategic direction for the engineering team.
· Proven experience in networking, including L4-L7 connectivity, browser and DNS behaviors, BGP, and related protocols.
· Prior experience as an engineering manager with demonstrated leadership in mentoring and performance management.
· Technical proficiency in Go or similar programming languages used in system development.
· Strong ability to give and process constructive feedback and work independently.
· Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fully remote environment.
