Security Engineer, Observability (Remote)

This role offers the opportunity to maintain and enhance the security telemetry infrastructure that supports real-time threat detection and incident response. You will work on building scalable, resilient systems that provide continuous visibility into security events across cloud and on-prem environments. The position emphasizes operational excellence, automation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will help ensure the reliability and performance of observability platforms, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to security data pipelines that empower incident response and threat detection. Accountabilities

• Design, build, and enhance data pipelines integrated with SIEM platforms.
• Plan, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security telemetry infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Automate manual processes to improve team efficiency and platform reliability.
• Monitor security observability platforms and respond to operational incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with multiple business units to ensure effective security telemetry delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and continuous learning.
• Document procedures, standards, and best practices.
• Stay current with emerging security trends, technologies, and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in security engineering roles, focusing on enterprise-grade solutions.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, GSEC, or Security+.
• Experience managing infrastructure in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Hands-on experience with Linux administration.
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) or experience developing against REST APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
