As a Principal Data Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and leading the development of advanced data platforms and products. You will architect high-performance, fault-tolerant, and scalable solutions to support analytical and operational needs, while improving data curation, integration, and accessibility. This position requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, real-time pipelines, and modern data technologies, combined with strong collaboration skills to work across teams. Your contributions will ensure data reliability, optimize performance, and enable impactful business insights across the organization. Accountabilities

·         Architect, design, and implement high-performance, scalable, and fault-tolerant data solutions.

·         Lead the development of data pipelines, integration workflows, and distributed storage/query systems.

·         Implement data curation and onboarding solutions to streamline new data source integration.

·         Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and product teams to ensure reliable and actionable data delivery.

·         Develop automation tools to monitor and measure data quality, including user interfaces for visualization.

·         Participate in design sessions, code reviews, and technical discussions to champion high-quality engineering standards.

·         Evaluate and implement modern technologies and platforms to continuously improve the data ecosystem.

·         10+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering in high-traffic, fault-tolerant environments.

·         Expertise in system architecture, design patterns, scalability, and reliability for data platforms.

·         Hands-on experience building real-time data pipelines and distributed systems.

·         Proficiency with Spark, Python, SQL, DBT, C#, and modern big data technologies (Snowflake, Athena, Pinot, Clickhouse, Flink, etc.).

·         Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.

·         Knowledge of generative AI tools for data engineering development (e.g., Copilot, Cursor).

·         Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

·         Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative mindset, and the ability to mentor or guide teams.

·         Competitive salary range: $221,400 - $296,100 USD (plus annual bonus, equity, and total compensation package).
