Power Systems Engineer II (Remote - US)

This role offers the opportunity to work on advanced transmission planning studies and power system analysis that shape the future of the electrical grid. You will perform detailed modeling, reliability assessments, and compliance analyses for generation and transmission projects, including renewable and storage resources. The position involves collaborating with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure technically accurate and timely project deliverables. You will also contribute to report preparation, data management, and automation efforts to streamline engineering workflows. This role is ideal for engineers who are passionate about power systems, renewable integration, and delivering reliable, high-quality analysis for modern energy networks.

Accountabilities

As a Power Systems Engineer II, you will:

• Conduct power system impact studies, including Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability analyses.
• Perform generator interconnection studies and Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) assessments as required.
• Ensure renewable and storage projects meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements.
• Prepare and deliver technical study reports for all assigned projects.
• Participate in working group meetings, case building, and other client-specific activities.
• Process, generate, and maintain data for analysis and reporting.
• Take ownership of project completion, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget objectives are met.
• Identify skill gaps and collaborate with management on training and development needs.

Candidates should have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in power systems.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a power systems engineer.
• Hands-on experience with power system software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
• Experience performing Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, and Short Circuit studies.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and automation of engineering workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a project team.

Preferred:

• Experience with renewable energy and energy storage integration studies.
• Exposure to compliance and reliability standards such as NERC and TPL requirements.
