Incident Response Principal Consultant - Weekend Shift (Remote)

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Incident Response Principal Consultant - Weekend Shift in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact cybersecurity engagements, leading incident response efforts and protecting organizations from advanced threats. You will guide investigations across networks, endpoints, and cloud environments while mentoring teams and collaborating with clients and internal stakeholders. The position focuses on strategic and technical leadership, providing hands-on expertise in incident detection, analysis, and remediation. You will leverage cutting-edge tools and methodologies to respond to breaches in near real-time, deliver actionable insights, and contribute to best practices in incident response. This is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving complex security challenges while growing their technical and leadership skills.

Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage incident response engagements from initial triage through remediation.
  • Conduct host, network, and cloud forensics across Windows, Mac, Linux, and cloud platforms.
  • Develop and apply advanced methods for threat detection and bad actor hunting across large datasets.
  • Perform malware analysis and reverse engineering to identify attack techniques and impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, and clients to provide actionable findings and recommendations.
  • Produce high-quality written and verbal reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide team members to promote technical excellence and career development.
  • Contribute thought leadership through public speaking, blogs, and industry forums.
  • 5+ years of experience in incident response, cybersecurity consulting, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a technical or matrixed environment.
  • Strong expertise in incident detection, forensic analysis, malware analysis, and threat remediation.
  • Experience with SIEM, network monitoring, and cloud incident response (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with network protocols, analysis tools such as Bro/Zeek or Suricata, and log analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to executives and clients.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant technical certifications preferred (GCFA, GCIH, GCDA, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and travel on short notice (up to 30%).
  • BA/BS or MA/MS in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Intelligence, or related field (or equivalent experience).
