Engineering Manager, Search

This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing engineering team focused on developing innovative search, mapping, and navigation solutions at scale. The Engineering Manager will oversee day-to-day operations, mentor and grow the team, and ensure alignment with organizational priorities. You will manage complex projects, foster technical excellence, and drive operational improvements while maintaining robust and reliable services. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-impact solutions. Accountabilities:

·        Lead and mentor a remote team of engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.

·        Manage day-to-day team operations, including sprint planning, project execution, and SRE responsibilities.

·        Deliver complex, high-impact projects, providing technical guidance and expertise.

·        Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define long-term business strategy and priorities.

·        Establish and monitor operational metrics to ensure high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions.

·        Promote best engineering practices across the team and organization.

·        Foster a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making, diversity, and continuous improvement.

·        5+ years of people management experience, including leading remote engineering teams.

·        Proven experience hiring, developing, and retaining diverse technical talent.

·        Deep technical expertise in building scalable web services and data products, preferably in AWS environments.

·        Strong operational excellence mindset, with experience in monitoring, metrics, triage, testing, and code review practices.

·        Track record of executing product vision, strategy, and achieving measurable outcomes.

·        Customer-focused, with a passion for understanding and solving user problems.

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.

·        Strong collaboration skills and experience working cross-functionally with product, design, and business stakeholders.

·        Competitive base salary: $206,550 – $279,450 (with adjustments for higher cost-of-labor regions).
