Controller (Remote - California)

This hands-on leadership position is perfect for an accounting professional who excels in managing close processes, enforcing internal controls, and implementing best practices. You'll oversee a small team and collaborate closely with leadership to inform strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis. Accountabilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and GAAP-compliant reporting
• Oversee all core accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and streamlined workflows
• Support strategic decision-making through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Coordinate tax filings and annual audits, ensuring clean audit outcomes through accurate documentation
• Lead and mentor a small accounting team, including offshore operations
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial systems and enhance operational efficiency

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior experience as Assistant Controller
• Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards
• Proficient in accounting systems (especially NetSuite) and Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead remote teams and collaborate with executive leadership
• Experience in healthcare, multi-entity, or service-based industries is a plus
• Must be based in the Pacific Time Zone

• Competitive base salary between $110,000 and $125,000, depending on experience
