- Native or near-native fluency in French as spoken in Haiti and/or French Guiana
- Deep knowledge of regional grammar, orthography, idioms, and register
- Experience with linguistic annotation, transcription, or localization workflows
- Strong written communication and metacognitive reporting ('show your work')
- Ability to reproduce and document model errors clearly and systematically
- Familiarity with basic NLP/AI concepts and annotation tools (or willingness to learn)
- High attention to detail and consistency in evaluation
- Reliable internet, secure computer, and ability to work asynchronously
Responsibilities
- Converse with and evaluate language model outputs using French as spoken in Haiti and French Guiana across diverse topics.
- Verify grammatical accuracy, orthography, regionalisms, idiomatic expressions, and tonal/intonation appropriateness.
- Capture reproducible error traces and document failure modes with clear, metacognitive notes.
- Provide actionable suggestions for prompt engineering and evaluation criteria.
- Annotate, transcribe, and rate model responses according to project guidelines and quality standards.
- Collaborate with remote teams to refine guidelines, test cases, and language-specific evaluation datasets.
- Maintain secure records of interactions and ensure data handling follows project security requirements.
- Track progress, produce periodic quality reports, and participate in calibration exercises.
Education
- Master's degree in Linguistics, Translation, French Language/Literature, or related field preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience accepted
- Professional experience in teaching, translation, localization, or editorial work favored
