As the Vice President of Global Commercial Operations, you will lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of Insulet’s global commercial operations—driving data-informed decision-making, operational efficiency, and business insight across the organization. Responsibilities
Lead Global Commercial Operations
Architect and evolve the Global Commercial Operations function—spanning global data and platform strategy, demand planning, forecasting, and training development and governance
Drive operational excellence and commercial effectiveness across the global business
Champion process improvements, enablement opportunities, and capability development to continuously raise commercial execution standards
Ensure the commercial organization is equipped with the insights, tools, and capabilities required to accelerate growth, optimize performance, and enhance customer engagement
Drive the adoption of modern digital platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Veeva, Tableau, CRM, sales enablement tools, digital asset management) across global commercial operations to enhance customer engagement and field productivity.
Advanced Analytics Integration: Champion the use of advanced analytics, AI/ML models, and data visualization tools to inform go-to-market strategies, resource allocation, and performance optimization.
Data Governance & Commercial Insights: Establish strong data governance frameworks and partner with IT and data teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and actionable insights that drive business decisions.
Tech Stack Strategy Partnership: Collaborate with the CTO/ CIO organizations to shape the commercial tech stack roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and innovation.
Digital KPIs & Measurement Rigor: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the impact of digital initiatives, customer experience improvements, and commercial effectiveness.
Enable Data-Driven Commercial Strategy
Guide the development and integration of data systems and tools that improve operational visibility, efficiency, and agility across commercial functions
Serve as the executive sponsor for data governance across all commercial operations functions, championing data integrity, harmonization, and strategic utilization to enable consistent, high-impact decision-making across global markets
Partner with IT and enterprise data teams to shape and execute the commercial data strategy, ensuring platform and infrastructure readiness to support global analytics and reporting needs
Lead Global Demand Planning Strategy
Oversee the development and execution of an integrated demand planning strategy that aligns commercial goals with supply chain capabilities, product lifecycle planning, and market dynamics
Guide the development of robust, data-driven forecasting models that support new product launches, replenishment planning, and scenario analysis across regions and business units
Partner with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain to ensure alignment of forecasts with market demand, promotional activity, capacity constraints, and financial targets
Establish governance processes, KPIs, and cadence reviews to improve forecast accuracy and drive accountability across global and regional teams
Drive Global Training Strategy & Execution
Guide the development and execution of a global training strategy that aligns with enterprise-wide commercial, medical, and product priorities, ensuring consistency, scalability, and measurable impact across regions
Facilitate alignment between the training function and senior leaders across commercial, medical affairs, franchise, and regional teams to integrate training initiatives with go-to-market strategies, while collaborating to monitor impact, close performance gaps, and continuously elevate commercial capabilities
Sponsor the adoption of modern learning methodologies and technologies—such as adult learning principles, digital platforms, and adaptive learning—to ensure training effectiveness, engagement, and long-term capability development
Ensure frameworks are in place to translate global training strategies into effective local execution, accounting for regional market nuances, product lifecycles, and sales team competency levels
Oversee KPIs and impact measurement for training programs to evaluate behavior change, sales effectiveness, and alignment to business outcomes; ensure data-driven improvements are implemented across the training lifecycle
Lead and Coach High-Performing Teams
Lead a diverse team of commercial and data analysts, demand planners, and training professionals
Cultivate a performance-driven culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
Empower teams to act as internal consultants and strategic enablers across the business
Support the development of each team’s leadership, operational, and technical capabilities, ensuring teams are equipped to meet both current and future business demands
Ensure Cross-Functional Alignment
Serve as a key member of the commercial leadership team, advising on operational levers to drive growth
Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure commercial readiness and scalability of key initiatives
Facilitate coordination across regions and business units, driving alignment, consistency, and agility in go-to-market execution
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree required, preferably in business administration, healthcare management, commercial strategy, or a related field from a top-tier academic institution (e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA)
20+ years of experience in healthcare, pharma, biotech, or diagnostics, with 8–10 years leading commercial operations at scale
Demonstrated experience with advanced planning tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, Veeva, SAP)
Proven experience in inspiring, developing, and managing large, cross-functional teams across complex and matrixed organizations
Preferred
Executive experience in data analytics, finance, or strategic management strongly preferred

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $208,200.00 - $312,300.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
