Pharmacy Sales Manager

About the Role

As a Pharmacy Sales Manager at PQS by Innovaccer, you'll be instrumental in empowering independent pharmacies across the U.S. You'll report directly to the Associate Director of Pharmacy Accounts and collaborate closely with our Customer Success, Implementation and Project Management teams to ensure seamless integration and support for our pharmacy partners. You will work directly with independent pharmacy owners and clinicians nationwide, understanding their specific challenges and introducing them to PQS' innovative solutions and driving their adoption of select services.

You will have the unique opportunity to champion EQUIPP Copilot by leading the charge in introducing and selling our groundbreaking EQUIPP Copilot to independent pharmacies. This is the industry's first AI-powered, system-agnostic tool designed to bring care management and operational efficiencies right to the fingertips of the pharmacist. You'll showcase how this technology can transform their daily workflow and patient outcomes.

To achieve success, you will partner cross-functionally within PQS, working with teams like product development and customer success to align on strategies that directly benefit independent pharmacies.

The specific responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

A Day in the Life

As a Pharmacy Sales Consultant at PQS, your days will be dynamic, focusing on building relationships and empowering independent pharmacies. Here’s a glimpse into what you can expect:

Driving Growth and Awareness

  • You'll own and drive top-of-funnel growth within the independent pharmacy market. This means actively strategizing with your support teams to monitor the effectiveness of outreach efforts and identify new opportunities. A significant part of your role will be to increase PQS’ visibility among independent pharmacies. You'll achieve this by planning for targeted events, like local pharmacy association meetings or small-scale webinars, and ensuring our marketing materials resonate directly with independent business owners.

Cultivating Partnerships and Closing Deals

  • You'll be instrumental in cultivating and closing partnerships with independent pharmacy groups and individual pharmacies. This involves coordinating with various stakeholders to define the return on investment (ROI) for their specific needs, crafting compelling demo strategies, and presenting tailored implementation plans. You'll develop and implement customer business plans for targeted prospective clients, namely Pharmacy Service Administrative Organizations (PSAO’s), offering guidance on how EQUIPP can help them adopt quality improvement processes. This often includes meetings with pharmacy owners, lead pharmacists, and other key decision-makers. You'll also prepare and deliver customized proposals and presentations.

Shaping the Future of Independent Pharmacy

  • You'll play a crucial role in influencing organizational thinking on the evolving healthcare landscape, specifically by highlighting the vital role of the independent pharmacy provider channel. You'll manage the end-to-end sales process for all opportunities, from initial client communications and on-site presentations to negotiations and deal signing.

Strategic Operations and Collaboration

  • Your responsibilities will also include core field sales activities such as sales forecasting, pipeline management, and assessing the overall health of your business using our CRM tools. You'll work closely with inside sales and product teams to refine sales pitches, collateral, and demos, continually building expertise in how PQS solutions, especially EQUIPP Copilot, benefit independent pharmacies. You'll also collaborate cross-functionally within PQS to help build and position EQUIPP Copilot products and services, and work with internal teams to ensure seamless client-specific updates, support, and implementation of EQUIPP Copilot.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 8+ years of healthcare sales experience; technology sales preferred
  • Experience and deep understanding of pharmacy organizations, operations  and their needs
  • Understanding of quality measurement systems (e.g., Medicare Stars, HEDIS).
  • Established contacts and networks within leading US healthcare stakeholders is required; additional experience in Community Pharmacy is preferred.
  • Capability to observe high levels of business protocol; maintain confidentiality, motivate, collaborate, multitask and prioritize projects and activities.
  • Demonstrated ability and tenacity to hit sales targets
  • Ability to prospect potential clients through research, networking, and cold-calling
  • Ability to develop and persuasively lead complex business presentations
  • Exceptional communication, presentation and writing skills.
  • Willingness to travel, cold call, whatever it takes to move the needle.

Key Skills

  • Healthcare technology sales experience, ability to manage and nurture leads in long sales cycles.
  • Pharmacy sales expertise, understanding of current trends, and ability to identify unique trend and market positioning of industry leading solutions.
  • Existing pharmacy contacts and an established network help to hit the ground running.
  • Ability to tactically and strategically plan activities that increase the possibility of deal closure.
  • Seasoned client experience, the ability to foster deeper relationships, and the ability to build champions at buyer organizations.
  • Ability to manage complex deals and coordinate between multiple stakeholders; ability to project manage and get work done.
  • Ability to guide and drive top of the funnel growth; ability to guide and mentor inside sales and demand generation executives.
  • Ability to create new business models and use-cases as an extension of the current EQUIPP Copilot offerings.
  • Agile thinker and problem-solver; experienced in late-stage startup environments.
