Business Manager, Terminals

We’re hiring a Business Manager, Terminals reporting to the Vice President of Business Development in the Terminals business unit. This position will have internal administrative responsibility for Beacon Street Logistics, LLC (“BSL”), a subsidiary of Global Partners, supporting the standardization of business processes that can influence business performance, including but not limited to the application of new infrastructure (systems and dashboards) for settlements, clearances, compliance and accounting; implementation of tools and resources to track and report real-time performance on blending margin loss/capture, cost trending for delivered butane and operating expenses, and other financial sensitivities and KPIs; and the creation of necessary commercial procedures to effectively administer the blending operation. In addition, the individual will assist in the prioritization and delivery of commercial initiatives such as contract maintenance, compliance and conformity across various accounts. The successful candidate will be process-driven with strong problem-solving skills and capacity to effectively manage multiple workstreams simultaneously. The individual must also be adaptative and possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with a variety of organizations including Data Insights, Operations, Commercial, and Corporate Accounting, and other functions. This position is remote.

“Gauges” of Responsibility

  • Centralize butane operations into newly formed entity and provide administrative control and organization across all workstreams.
  • Sponsor, drive and implement new systems acting as co-lead with IT resource.
  • Provide automation solutions to current processes.
  • Support Operations in the development of blending procedures and certification process to minimize and mitigate risk.
  • Collaborate with Technical Services in the project management lifecycle including packaging materials for customer consumption.
  • Partner with Blending Originator to ensure physical butane purchases are booked accurately and timely.
  • Develop cost tracking tool for project-related costs and operating expenses that impact business performance.
  • Act as primary liaison with corporate accounting for customer billing/invoices.
  • Primary administrator of margin distribution to customers consistent with contract obligations.
  • Responsible for overall profit-loss oversight of the blending business working closely with budgeting team to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Gatekeeper for KPIs related to business performance including annual revenue targets.
  • Ability to stretch capabilities beyond BSL to include M&A and other BD-led initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience required.
  • Experience in butane blending required.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and facilitation.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Strategic planning.
  • Problem solving abilities.
