System Hardware Architect

Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

System Hardware Engineer, Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, ALMake the world’s most advanced Missile Defense Systems even smarter and more secure.

 

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a System Hardware Engineer, the successful candidate will perform the following activities as part of the daily work routine:

• Identification and definition of desired hardware baseline, integration practices and methods
• Support End of Sale/End of Life Course of Action analysis
• Apply proven hardware architecture principles to system design and development
• Support identification and selection of hardware baselines for on-Prem cloud systems
• Identify disconnects between hardware host and the COTS software hosted on the hardware

 What sets you apart:  

• Proven track record of successfully applying hardware architecture principles to system design and development
• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop Hardware and Infrastructure solutions using engineering processes and methods
• Solid understanding of hardware and networking device selection, procurement processes, and baseline of hardware approaches (HW/SW Baseline DB experience a plus)
• Experience in analyzing high level physical and infrastructure designs
• Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the systems development life cycle
• Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success
• Thorough knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements
• Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions

Workplace Options:

This position is on-site 100% and does not support telecommuting.

While on-site, you will be a part of the GDMS team supporting the Missile Defense Agency.

Salary Note

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Combined Salary Range

USD $139,189.00 - USD $154,412.00 /Yr.
