Skills
- Extensive experience building order handling or matching engines
- Strong proficiency in Java, C++ or functional languages (e.g., Scala)
- Deep understanding of FIX and other market data/order protocols
- Experience developing real-time Linux systems and network protocols (TCP, IP multicast)
- Familiarity with low-latency, lock-free design, multithreading, and concurrency
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize matching engine components, order entry, and market data publication
- Apply engineering principles to quantify and mitigate risk in real-time trading systems
- Develop scalable architecture and APIs to support future exchange capabilities
- Monitor platform health, report issues, and lead incident response to minimize downtime
- Automate operational tasks and improve system recoverability, throughput, and latency
- Mentor engineers to ensure features are efficient, fault tolerant, and highly available
- Coordinate and prioritize software changes and migrations to support rapid feature delivery
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant discipline is a plus but not required
