IT Support Technician
Skills
- Hands-on desktop/laptop hardware troubleshooting and installation for PC and Mac.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Active Directory, and Exchange.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, and network printing.
- Experience with handheld scanners, Zebra printers, and USB barcode scanners is a plus.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and provide strong customer service.
- Familiarity with server build/configuration and basic security/permission management.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade desktops, laptops, operating systems, applications, and peripherals (PC and Mac).
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, OS, application, and peripheral issues.
- Provide end-user support via phone, email, and in-person; document helpdesk tickets and resolutions.
- Maintain LAN and wireless connectivity and assist with basic network and security tasks (password resets, file permissions, access monitoring).
- Provision and manage user accounts and permissions in Active Directory, Exchange, VPN, and printing systems.
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or proactive/automated solutions for recurring issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and collaborate with vendors for hardware/software support.
- Support planned outages and work flexible hours as required; follow safety procedures and wear required PPE on the factory floor.
Education
- College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- Or 2+ years equivalent IT support experience accepted.
- A+ and/or MCSE certifications preferred but not required.
