Our Director of Procurement will lead our strategic sourcing and procurement operations.  Responsibilities will include sourcing strategic components, indirect spend, and re-engineering our procurement processes and platforms. You will work cross-functionally to ensure we have the right suppliers, materials, and cost structures in place to support our growth and innovation. As Evolv’s procurement lead, you will drive supplier performance, cost optimization, and supply continuity while building a scalable procurement infrastructure.

What does success in the role look like?

Within the first 30 days you will:

  • Complete an audit of current sourcing practices and deliver a summary report with at least 3 key improvement opportunities.
  • Identify top 5 strategic suppliers and prepare negotiation strategy documents for at least 2 master agreements.
  • Establish baseline spend analysis and identify at least 3 potential cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct alignment meetings with contract manufacturers and document agreed roles and responsibilities.
  • Define and present an initial set of procurement KPIs and reporting templates to leadership.
  • Map current procurement process and identify at least 2 critical compliance gaps for remediation.
  • Hold introductory meetings with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams and produce a documented alignment plan.
  • Draft initial outline for ethical sourcing policy and identify 2 priority areas for sustainability improvements.

Within 90 days you will:

  • Deliver a draft strategic sourcing framework aligned with company goals and secure leadership approval for implementation.
  • Engage top 5 strategic suppliers and renegotiate terms for at least 2 master agreements with improved pricing or lead times.
  • Identify and prioritize minimum 3 cost-reduction/value engineering initiatives with projected savings and timelines.
  • Complete a detailed SOX-compliant procurement process redesign plan, including workflow diagrams and resource requirements.
  • Launch a basic procurement dashboard tracking KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, risk mitigation) and share monthly updates.
  • Finalize and implement a procurement alignment plan with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams for new product introductions.
  • Publish a draft ethical sourcing policy and secure stakeholder feedback for refinement.

Within the first 12 months you will:

  • Fully implement the strategic sourcing framework and demonstrate at least 10% cost savings across targeted categories.
  • Achieve 95% on-time delivery and <2% defect rate for strategic suppliers.
  • Complete procurement process re-engineering and achieve 100% SOX compliance, validated through internal audit and positive stakeholder feedback.
  • Launch a comprehensive procurement dashboard with monthly reporting on KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, risk mitigation).
  • Execute at least 3 major cost-reduction/value engineering initiatives, delivering measurable savings.
  • Establish a supplier performance management program, including quarterly reviews and scorecards.
  • Implement an ethical sourcing policy and ensure 100% compliance among strategic suppliers.
  • Build a scalable procurement infrastructure that supports new product introductions and company growth.
