The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting the Senior Accounting Manager by leading and guiding the global standard costing process and directly managing the US region’s standard costing processes.  This position will collaborate with peers in accounting and supply chain business partners to drive process improvement and operational efficiencies. Ideal candidates must be able to work at our Bloomington, MN location on a hybrid schedule.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate the global standard costing process, partnering with regional controllers to maintain accurate and consistent global costing standards.

• For the US region, provide hands on guidance and maintain the detail standard costing standards for Donaldson’s manufacturing and distribution centers, ensuring accurate material, labor, and overhead rates.

• Subject matter expert for Donaldson’s material purchase variances.

• Generate standard reporting, KPI’s, metrics and commentary related to cost updates and freight expense.

• Perform key balance sheet reconciliations as required.

• Assist in budgeting and forecasting of material and freight expenses.

• Support internal and external audits related to inventory valuation.

• Collaborate with finance, operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to support business objectives.

• Continuously evaluate and improve cost accounting processes and systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field or at least 7+ years of accounting or finance experience.

• 4+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.

• 2+ years of experience with Oracle or other major ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a global manufacturing environment

• Advanced/Intermediate computer skills (MS Office Suite, BPC, BI, Tableau)

• Solid understanding of large company’s accounting policies and internal control procedures

• Personal effectiveness (relationship building, teamwork, interpersonal insight, conflict resolution, customer orientation)

Relocation:  This position is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Annual Salary Range: $78,400 – 100,900

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
