Skills
- 5+ years in conversational design, linguistics, or related fields
- Portfolio demonstrating conversational systems and dialogue flow design
- Experience applying linguistic techniques and conversational mechanics
- Strong understanding of UX and human-centered design principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Familiarity with AI/ML, dialogue management, and NLP tools preferred
- Experience or familiarity with VR/AR environments is a plus
Responsibilities
- Design and develop turn-based dialogue systems and end-to-end conversational flows that feel natural and engaging
- Collaborate with Design, Product, Engineering, Research, Content Strategy, and QA to align on goals and implement experiences
- Contribute to strategic product decisions and advocate for conversational design across the organization
- Create satisfying core mechanics and dialogue loops, iterate on prototypes, and support post-launch improvements
- Provide and solicit real-time feedback to raise craftsmanship and quality across the design team
- Clearly articulate conversational design rationale to diverse internal stakeholders and quickly resolve cross-functional issues
Education
- BA/BS in Linguistics, HCI, Computer Science, English, Communications, or equivalent practical experience
- Advanced degrees in related fields or demonstrable portfolio experience are welcomed
