Cybervance is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Architect to design, build, and oversee the implementation of advanced security systems across enterprise IT networks. The successful candidate will provide both technical and leadership expertise, guiding security engineering teams and working closely with executives and stakeholders to ensure the highest level of information assurance.
The Cybersecurity Architect will be responsible for developing secure network designs, integrating advanced security technologies, and applying risk management methodologies in line with federal standards. This role requires not only deep technical expertise but also excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Design, build, test, and implement comprehensive security systems across enterprise IT networks.
• Architect and integrate advanced cybersecurity solutions, including:
• Lead and manage a team of Security Engineers, ensuring effective collaboration, mentoring, and technical guidance.
• Apply risk management frameworks (RMF) and conduct risk assessments based on NIST standards, ensuring system designs adequately mitigate information assurance risks.
• Develop secure architectures and enforce policies to protect organizational and agency assets.
• Collaborate with senior management, IT staff, and stakeholders to explain, enforce, and gain buy-in for security requirements.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, threats, and compliance requirements to continuously evolve security architecture.
• Produce and maintain security documentation, architecture diagrams, and technical road maps.
• Provide subject matter expertise during audits, compliance assessments, and security reviews.
Required Skills and Experience:
• 10+ years of experience designing, building, testing, and implementing security systems within enterprise IT networks.
• Strong technical expertise in wireless networks, firewalls, IDS/IPS, LAN/WAN, SIEM solutions, and cloud integration strategies.
• At least 5 years’ experience managing security engineering teams, with proven success in mentoring and developing staff.
• Strong ability to apply NIST-based risk management techniques and perform system-level risk assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior management and diverse stakeholders, articulating complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent teaching, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to balance technical requirements with business needs, enabling secure and efficient IT operations.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• CISSP certification required; CISSP-ISSAP strongly preferred.
• Additional relevant certifications (e.g., CISM, CISA, CCSP, or vendor-specific certifications in firewall, cloud, or SIEM technologies) are desirable.
