Senior Application Security Engineer
Skills
- Hands-on development experience with Kotlin, Java, and TypeScript
- Deep knowledge of OWASP Top 10, CWE, and common web/API vulnerabilities
- Proficiency with security testing tools (Burp Suite, Fortify, Veracode, etc.)
- Experience integrating security into CI/CD and secure SDLC practices
- Familiarity with OAuth2, OIDC, and SAML authentication/authorization
- Ability to lead cross-functional security initiatives and hold teams accountable
Responsibilities
- Perform security assessments, code reviews, and penetration testing for applications written in Kotlin, Java, and TypeScript.
- Identify, classify, prioritize, and track remediation of vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, CWE, etc.).
- Use and maintain tools such as Burp Suite, SAST/DAST/IAST scanners, and other automated security tools.
- Integrate security testing and automation into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous validation.
- Collaborate with development teams to enforce secure coding standards and SLAs for vulnerability remediation.
- Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security design reviews for new and existing applications.
- Define and maintain security requirements aligned with OWASP, NIST, ISO, PCI DSS, and GDPR.
- Provide secure coding training and security awareness to engineering teams.
- Respond to security incidents and support remediation and post-incident reviews.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new security tools and technologies.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (required)
- Advanced degree or additional security certifications are a plus
