Required qualification: As the primary function of this role is to support CFIUS monitorship and audit engagements, the adjudication requirements set forth by the US Government require that team members be US citizens only and hold no additional citizenship.
Control Risks’ CFIUS & National Security practice is seeking a director-level candidate to join a dynamic team at the intersection of foreign direct investment, national security, and trade policy. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with the CFIUS process and other national security regulatory regimes, along with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, oversee complex engagements, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients. Relevant backgrounds may include strategic threat management, data analytics, cybersecurity, business strategy, supply chain security, and trade/export compliance.
As a Director-level employee, you will be responsible for leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams through engagements involving pre-transactional risk assessments, evaluating mitigation strategies, national security compliance program assessments, independent third-party audits and monitorships of national security agreements, and advisory projects under related regimes such as Team Telecom, export controls, sanctions, bulk data security rule, and the outbound investment security program.
Tasks and responsibilities
As a director-level employee, you will be a key member of the client engagement team with a deep understanding of both clients’ strategic objectives and the operational realities that shape their compliance posture. You will manage and execute substantive national security advisory, compliance, and monitoring projects, ensuring deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and clarity to both internal and external stakeholders. The base salary range for this position is $170,000-$185,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
