Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College – School of Public Policy and Management is looking for a Program Director to join our team of collaborators and innovators. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a strategic, student-centered professional who excels in a dynamic and passionate environment.
Lead all aspects of the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management program, including the Data Analytics track. You will be responsible for program strategy, curriculum, student experience, and operations. Collaborate with different departments for program alignment.
You will also directly supervise the Academic Program Manager.
Core responsibilities include:
Serve as a spokesperson for Heinz College and its public policy and healthcare analytics programs.
Stay informed on public sector and healthcare industry trends, ensuring programs align with workforce demands.
Continuously evaluate program curricula, learning outcomes, and market positioning.
Lead the planning and implementation of new initiatives, such as partnerships, online and hybrid offerings, and certificates.
Coordinate all aspects of capstone projects, from intake and team formation to assessment.
Collaborate with internal partners to improve recruitment, student engagement, experiential learning, and job placement.
Manage program operations and budgets optimally.
Assess academic policies and contribute to the development of standard methodologies.
Present information clearly to a wide range of audiences and maintain strong written and verbal communication skills.
Uphold confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
Show flexibility, strong focus on details, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced setting.
Occasional evening/weekend work and travel (domestic and international) may be required.
Apply advanced computing skills and data tools, including expert proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. A combination of education and relevant experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge may be considered.
Minimum of five years of experience in academic advising, academic program management, and/or teaching/instruction.
