Carnegie Mellon’s Pre-College Programs is hiring several part-time application and enrollment readers for the winter and early spring of 2026 (mid-January to early/mid-April).
Core responsibilities include:
Attending required trainings and weekly meetings.
Thoroughly and holistically evaluating application materials to help enroll an academically and artistically qualified, diverse Pre-College cohort.
Reviewing enrollment documentation for admitted students to ensure preparedness for program participation.
Completing assigned readings, articles, and materials to maintain a strong understanding of current and historical admissions and higher education practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Readers will work approximately 17.5-20 hours per week and will have a flexible schedule. Selected candidates need to be available for training from January 14 – January 15, then will begin working more regular hours starting January 2026. Readers will use their personal computers to access the secure online application and enrollment portal to complete work assignments.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
1-3 years of prior admission/recruiting and/or secondary education experience required
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advising or work with a community-based organization advancing education and career opportunities
Previous application and/or enrollment reading experience
Requirements:
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)
