Skills
- Strong experience programming in Go
- Practical experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
- Experience with metrics and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or similar deployment/orchestration systems
- Experience building and operating distributed systems and high-traffic APIs
- Proven ability to drive projects from concept through release
- Familiarity implementing and consuming RESTful APIs
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the core architecture of the Workers control plane responsible for deploying and configuring applications globally
- Identify and remove performance bottlenecks; re-architect services to support exponential growth
- Design resilient database schemas and read/write patterns for long-term scale
- Optimize API latency and availability with a focus on developer experience
- Participate in production ownership, including on-call rotation and incident response
- Lead technical design, collaborate cross-functionally with product and customers, and mentor teammates
- Research and prototype new technologies to solve large-scale distributed challenges
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
- Openness to candidates with non-traditional backgrounds who demonstrate relevant experience
