Skills
- Proficiency in Rust programming and idiomatic systems-level coding.
- Experience with Linux networking primitives and tooling (ip, tc, namespaces).
- Familiarity with data center networking protocols (BGP, BFD, VXLAN).
- Design and integration of RESTful/asynchronous backend systems and APIs.
- Experience running and managing virtual machines on Linux.
- Good written and verbal communication; cross-team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement control and data plane software for custom network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Linux-based systems and networking integrations (ip, tc, network namespaces, etc.).
- Build and evolve RESTful and asynchronous backend APIs to manage network configuration and automation.
- Enable and support private, high-speed interconnects for products such as Magic Transit and Magic WAN.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, and network teams to produce sustainable operational solutions.
- Monitor, debug, and optimize systems carrying high volumes of customer traffic; participate in operational support as needed.
Education
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Or equivalent practical experience in software engineering or SRE roles.
