What you will do...
The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading a team of 2, and working closely with the Controller.
- Backup to both A/R and Payroll
- Accounts Payable
- Contract management, setup and monthly billing
- Independent contractor management, setup, and monthly payments
- Ensure accuracy of financial records – reconciling all balance sheet accounts monthly
- Create reports and financial statements, explain to management variances
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements (ie sales tax)
- Provide support to management as requested
What is required...
- Minimum 2 years in an accounting role, with accounts payable focus
- Strong understanding and application of basic accounting rules
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas, and pivot tables) and accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Able to supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals
- Able to learn quickly and work independently
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and follow up/follow through
- Driven to achieve department and company goals
- Solve problems and learn how to prevent them
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Reliable transportation
