The Forensics Investigations Unit - Budget and Procurement Unit is responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and controlling the Forensic Investigations Unit and its sub-units (Police Laboratory, Latent Print Unit, Crime Scene Unit) annual and capital budgets, procurement operations, and account payable functions.
The Forensic Investigations Unit-Budget and Procurement Unit seeks a qualified candidate in the title of Administrative Procurement Analyst Level IV or Administrative Staff Analyst Level IV to oversee all procurement-related tasks for the Forensic Investigations Unit and its sub-units. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex procurements using various methods (e.g., sealed bids, RFPs,
sole source, negotiated acquisitions).
- Reviewing procurement documents across purchasing methods, including micro, small,
formal ($1 00k+), and intergovernmental purchases. Ensuring proper use and oversight
of procurement systems such as PASSPort, FMS, and other citywide platforms.
- Verifying procurement specifications and documentation for accuracy, compliance with
Procurement Policy Board (PPB) Rules, and oversight requirements.
- Supporting M/WBE initiatives by conducting analyses, setting participation goals, and
tracking vendor compliance. Processing commodity orders using state/city contracts
and micro-purchase channels.
- Assisting with special projects and ensuring overall procurement integrity and efficiency.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in purchasing, procurement, contract administration or a related field, at least eighteen months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity or supervising professional personnel performing duties in one or more of the above fields; or
