The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for a Part-time College Aide in the Early Engagement Case Support Unit (EECU). In this position the person is responsible for providing administrative support to the unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Mail Orders of Protection to victims/witnesses.
- Assist Civilian Engagement Specialists with mailing supporting depositions to victims/witnesses.
- Record returned mail in the CWS database and consult with staff and Assistant District Attorney’s to ensure correct information is entered and updated accordingly.
- Retrieve bad mail and distribute to the appropriate CES.
- Detail oriented and self-motivated and able to multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up
- Works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and computer skills.
- Professional interaction with all levels of staff, victims, witnesses, and law enforcement personnel
- Perform related tasks as assigned.
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
- Experience in a law office or business.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to quickly master new computer systems and to update and edit existing applicant tracking database.

Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study.
For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow):
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications.

Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
