Job Summary:
The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development (MOED) coordinates and directs workforce development initiatives responsive to the needs of Baltimore City employees and job seekers to enhance and promote the local economy. The Purchasing Coordinator supports the agency’s purchasing operations by compiling and processing data required for procurement transactions through the City of Baltimore’s procurement system and the agency’s internal requisition platform. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and accurate acquisition of goods and services in compliance with budgetary and procurement guidelines.
Essential Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Have an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university.
AND
Experience: Have one year of experience in processing and expediting the purchase of Commodities or services.
OR
Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Background Check
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
Probation
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
